Thank you for choosing Silverlinger and visiting our official website (collectively, “the Service”), developed and maintained by YiFeng Chen (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We fundamentally respect your reading privacy and govern the Service strictly under the principle of data minimization.

Section 1: Silverlinger macOS Application

1. Zero Data Collection

• No User Accounts: The App requires no account registration or login. We collect no names, phone numbers, email addresses, physical locations, or persistent device identifiers (e.g., UUID, IDFA).
• No Remote Telemetry: The App does not transmit book contents, reading duration, reading positions, bookmarks, highlights, or notes to an external server.
• No Tracking or Analytics SDKs: The App does not include third-party analytics frameworks, advertising SDKs, or background telemetry code.

2. Local Storage and Sandbox Protection

• Read-Only Source Files: When opening an EPUB from Finder, the App accesses the source archive read-only. It does not modify or overwrite the source file, or retain a permanent copy of the original EPUB in the app container.
• Local Reading State: To restore your reading state, the App stores locator data, bookmarks, highlights, and notes associated with a content fingerprint. This data remains in the Silverlinger macOS App Sandbox container and is not uploaded by the App.
• Security-Scoped Bookmarks: Under macOS App Sandbox rules, read-only file access is retained across restarts via system-standard security-scoped bookmarks explicitly authorized by you.

3. Network Communication & External Links

• The App initiates no background network requests.
• If an EPUB contains external hyperlinks (http:// or https://), clicking them explicitly delegates navigation to your default macOS browser. External sites operate under their respective policies.

Section 2: Official Website & Infrastructure

1. Server Connection Logs

The website is served through Cloudflare Pages, and release downloads are provided through Cloudflare R2. Cloudflare infrastructure may process standard HTTP connection information—including client IP, User-Agent, timestamps, and requested paths—for delivery and security. We do not use this information to build individual profiles or perform cross-site tracking.

2. Local Browser Storage

The website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. We utilize browser localStorage solely to persist:

• Your preferred interface language (Chinese or English);
• Your preferred appearance theme (Light or Dark mode). This preference data is stored in your local browser and can be cleared through browser settings.

3. Release Downloads

Release files are served from Cloudflare R2 through download.silverlinger.app. Download requests and delivery are processed by Cloudflare infrastructure and are subject to Cloudflare’s applicable privacy terms.

Section 3: General Terms

1. Children’s Privacy

The Service does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable statutory age in your jurisdiction).
